The contraindications and desired therapeutic benefits of the individual are analysed by the selection wizard before advising useful and relevant essential oils, and allowing the user to create their own blend by selecting a top, middle and base note from the list of useful essential oils. After the wizard has analysed the individual, it outputs a report displaying the relevant essential oil information It is imperative to note that individuals use essential oils at their own risk and should review the quality and purity of their essential oils before using them. Read details...	2. Costing and Stock Maintenance The second function of SASSI is the costing functionality. This component enables users to input the size and purchase price of their oil bottles. The program uses this information to calculate the cost of one drop of oil. Costing data appears in the create your own blend section, and can also be viewed oil by oil in the update essential oil and update carrier oil screens. As well as providing costing information, the user can select any essential oils they own. The selection wizard can produce results based on all oils in the database, or it can tailor results based only on oils that you own. If there is a specific ailment to treat, then the selection wizard can show results from all oils in the program. This will ascertain the best combination of oils to purchase and thus save money by only having oils that are relevant to the individual. Conversely, if you want a treatment only using oils that have been purchased, then the program will tailor the results to show only the oils that you have available. Both methods have advantages and can be used according to individual needs.
	3. Building Your Knowledge Base The third function of the software is to provide a knowledge base for essential oils and carrier oils - the tools of an aromatherapist. It is this function that enables students of aromatherapy to store their data for use in practice. This software contains a number of reporting tools to allow access information in the database and to print lists of essential oils and their properties to assist in the selection of quality essential oils. The essential oil section displays a screen that contains relevant information about selected essential oils. This information can be used to assist in the purchase of essential oils, the blending of essential oils, and outlines when and when not to use particular oils based on their contraindications and therapeutic benefits. The list of essential oils already in the database has been complied from over thirty reliable sources as documented in the references section. The carrier oil section displays a screen that contains relevant information about selected carrier oils. Carrier oils are generally used in massage and are a fast method of getting essential oils into the bloodstream.

This component allows users to add, edit or delete any or all of the data in the programs database. This means that students of aromatherapy fill the database with information as they learn new oils at college. When college has finished, students will have a useful tool to begin their aromatherapy career. Existing aromatherapists can modify the database to contain all the information about all the oils they use in their practice.
